As of June 8th, 2016, Ownership of Hidden Meadow Ranch has changed. As my family is gearing up to take the reins, we would like to express our gratefulness to not only the members of HMR and the hardworking Staff for bearing with us during this transitioning period but also the families who have been in our place before who have made Hidden Meadow Ranch what its is today. We are fully aware and appreciate the sacrifices and commitments it took to transform a unique property first from a cattle ranchers homestead with no running water or electricity to a multi generational guest ranch and finally into the much awarded exclusive getaway that it is today. We are excited to take the ranch to the next step, by preserving both its beauty and serenity for all existing and future members while focusing on sustainability and longevity of the ranch itself and its property values.
On a personal note, I have always felt that stumbling onto 'the white mountains best kept secret' was a blessing and very unexpected gift for my family: A place close enough to the valley, with four seasons and a real temperature drop in the summer, surrounded by both manmade and natural beauty, secluded but not isolated, where our children can build forts in the summer and snowmen in the winter, all combined with the amenities of a luxurious getaway, it truly was love at first sight for me. A select group of likeminded people that have quickly become friends was just icing on the cake.
My fathers love of nature and commitment to protect it, is something that he installed in both my sister and me, and now his four grandchildren, early on, and is probably only surpassed by his commitment to family. It is not surprising that the idea of preserving something as beautiful and secluded as Hidden Meadow Ranch just feels right to him. Combined with his brilliant business acumen and my husbands extensive real estate knowledge I feel like my special place is in the best of hands. All summer long you'll see my dad riding the trails together with his wife Karen and their dog Brody on our beloved Missouri Foxtrotters, checking out every birds nest, every spring, every mushroom shooting up from the summer afternoon rains and taking some truly spectacular wildlife pictures on the way. You'll see all Hidden Meadow kids and their visiting friends enjoying the lake, the horses, the tepee village, the indoor club house, the baby goats and that special feeling that you get when nothing is scheduled and you are free to roam the wild outdoors. You'll see members and their guests hiking, fishing and gather for weddings and holiday events, family bbqs and special winemaker dinners in our restaurant, which is widely known to local insiders as" the most beautiful room in the white mountains."
I know that HMR has touched many people's life in many different ways. Going forward I hope you all share this journey with us, keep in touch and watch Hidden Meadow Ranch continue to grow and thrive. Until we meet again...happy trails! Stefanie
